What is Laser Therapy?

Class IV deep tissue laser is the strongest non-surgical laser therapy available today.  It works by delivering concentrated laser light into injured muscles, ligaments, tendons, and joints, penetrating down to a cellular level.  This reduces pain by inhibiting nociceptive action potential, reduces inflammation by decreasing TNF and IL-1, and creates advanced healing and tissue repair by increasing microcirculation, macrophage activity, growth factors.

What this means for you is that we combine classic chiropractic with the latest technology to get the results you want at a quicker pace and reduce the number of visits you may need to be well.

Conditions We Treat

We have had great success treating neuropathy, TMJ pain, migraine and tension headaches, neck pain, thoracic outlet syndrome, frozen shoulder, tennis elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome, wrist sprains, hip bursitis, sciatica, piriformis syndrome, IT band syndrome, knee pain, shin splints, plantar fascitis, and Morton's neuroma.

Seeing patients have breakthroughs with extremely challenging conditions like these is absolutely thrilling, especially in cases of neuropathies where other providers had given up.  More on Neuropathy

Laser Therapy FAQ

How long has laser therapy been available?

The study of lasers and laser therapy goes back nearly 50 years through a field of study called photobiomodulation.  This is the study of how certain wavelengths of light affect living cells and tissues.  Therapy lasers range from class 1 to class 4, which identifies power capacity and depth of penetration.  We use class 4, which enables us to work deeper into bigger muscles, and even reach tissues below muscles like discs and nerves.

Does it really work?

It really works!  Dr. Owens has successfully treated thousands of patients over almost 5 years of incorporating laser into everyday practice.  Even the most seemingly hopeless conditions have seen improvement, such as trigeminal neuralgia, plantar fascitis, herniated discs, peripheral neuropathy, and migraine headaches.

How long will it take for me to feel the difference?

Most patients love the way laser therapy feels immediately with soothing deep heat gently massaging and penetrating the injured area.  While most patients feel the difference on day 1, some conditions take a little longer to respond.  Every patient should see improvement within 3 to 6 treatments, or we would re-evaluate the diagnosis and plan.
