Peripheral Neuropathy Treatment
If you experience pain, numbness, tingling, or other symptoms in your feet, you may be suffering with peripheral neuropathy. It may seem as hopeless as it is debilitating, but people just like you are getting relief with deep-tissue laser therapy in Gainesville. We are seeing excellent results with our peripheral neuropathy treatment program. We use Deep-Tissue Laser Therapy, which penetrates deeply into cells and stimulates better circulation, healing of blood vessels, and nerve regeneration. This type of therapy may also be referred to as photobiomodulation (PBM) or low-level light therapy (LLLT). Peripheral Neuropathy from Diabetes
Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy
Around 80% of all peripheral neuropathies are caused by diabetes. The chronic increase in sugar circulating in the blood can slowly destroy the blood supply to nerves. This happens first in the area furthest from the heart, which is in the toes, then the feet, calves, and shins, etc. The hands may also be affected, but is much less common than problems in the feet. Patients with this condition describe a variety of symptoms, from horrible burning pain, to pins and needles, complete numbness, hypersensitivity, and more. The most common treatments for peripheral neuropathy include gabapentin, Lyrica, balance training, nutritional supplements, and topical rubs. Most of our patients report having tried a few of these with limited results, and many have been told by their doctors that there is nothing that will help. We haven't found that to be true at all. At Owens Chiropractic & Laser Center, we have seen relief in at least 85% of our patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathy! Some patients have gotten considerable relief, and some have completely healed their feet.
Peripheral Neuropathy Treatment
Depending on your specific symptoms and exam findings, the typical plan of care is between 12 and 24 treatments. Treatments consist of soothing, warm deep-tissue laser therapy for 15-20 minutes, performed by Dr. Owens, along with other therapies that may include vibracussor, adjusting, deep blue ointment, or other options. There is no insurance available for this treatment, despite the irrefutable effectiveness demonstrated in the research that we linked earlier on this page. Treatment costs will be determined after the consultation and exam, and can be easily managed with one of our flexible payment options.

Dr. Owens and the laser treatment have helped my feet tremendously, and I can feel things I haven't felt in years! Recently, my big toe was infected, and the doctor recommended amputation. Despite being diabetic, I declined amputation, hoping that the antibiotics combined with all of the improved blood circulation from laser treatment would save my toe. I am happy to report still having all 10 toes! Thanks Dr. Owens!Jeff H.
After just a few treatments, I can tell my feet feel much less heavy, painful, tight, and cold. I can't wait to see what my feet will feel like as I continue my treatments at Owens Chiropractic & Laser Center!Vickie P.
